Just another HELLO! message...

Post by travellingmarshs »

Hi,

New here but been lurking for a couple of weeks enjoying the many posts.

My wife has a 206 cc 2.0 Allure '04 bought brand new as a replacement for a lemon of an MG-F. The car has been great (and oh-so-reliable compared to the MG) but there are now a couple of issues.

We've been away travelling the world (mid-life crisis) for the last two years during which time my parents have lovingly looked after the car (including getting a toothbrush around all the nooks and crannies to stops moss growing!). But the other day, the aerial fell off (rusted through) and the thread has welded itself to the aerial mount on top of the car :( also the reversing lights do not come on, which i am presuming is a problem with the switch on the gearbox (fuse and bulbs are ok).

so... just wondering of anyone can recommend a spare parts website where replacements can be ordered? I have a new aerial already but cannnot find the roof mount anywhere online (i think the part number is 656147); reverse light switch (part 225759) not such a problem but i would prefer to order them together if possible.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Tim

Hello Tim and welcome,
I don't find our local main dealer expensive. I paid about £8 for a new reversing light switch. I don't know the price for a new aerial fitting though, but the main dealer would be my first port of call. At least you'll know their price.

Thanks GrandadMonkey. The first two garages didn't have them, but the garage in uxbridge had both and we now have a working radio and reversing lights again :)

next problem is the CD stuck inside the player (won't eject)... apart from that, a great little car!
