Hi I'm new here and as usual I have messed things up
Our 206 has gone into melt down, car was cutting out
front side light, wipers, coming on when it hesitates/cuts out
also dash dials rev count etc drop out, but I could still drive it
but with difficulties miss fire etc.
Thought it could be a bad earth you guest it I disconnected the
battery not realising there is a certain procedure to follow.
Now I have loads of relays clicking etc, not ignition our dash light etc.
Can this be recovered
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have Mercedes ML 270,000 miles had loads of problems & never
ended up taking it back to stealership so I'm well up for a challenge
Regards Keebo

Re: Incorrect battery disconnection (the recovery)
Unfortunately, if it's a 2002 on model, you have likely to have fried the BSI unit. Try looking for a blown fuse first, then try a BSI reset (details at top of this forum) failing that you need to get BSI repaired by an ECU repair company, then tow the car (with the "virginised" BSI fitted) to a Peugeot main dealer along with all the keys and the key code card (or they charge an extra tenner to get the code) and get them to re-code the BSI.
Cheers Col.

Re: Incorrect battery disconnection (the recovery)
Hi & thanks for the reply, motor is sorted was earth (engine to body)
broken cable this will be a common one cable is only just long enough
If only it was that simple, front indicators arnt working now
no 12v at the bulb holders, connections are mint, but looks like slight
burning at bulb end of bulb holders but everything is good inside
had off side working but not now, done a couple of BSi resets
No Joy
Once again any help would be greatest appreciated

You were lucky.
Try the bulbs. Wouldn't be the first time I have seen 2 bulbs go simultaniously.

Re: Incorrect battery disconnection (the recovery)
Thanks for the reply, no 12v at the bulb wires, new bulbs
brought this to my attention. Had to solder wire in at side
indicator to front indicator (live only) works fine now Argh!
No time to keep pissing about with it (going for re-test)
PS how's that ML been mine's done 273,000 miles
500 miles on a full tank, no swirl flaps now.

Re: Incorrect battery disconnection (the recovery)
Ah! Missed the bit about no voltage.
ML's fine @179K. Bog stock 270cdi on tiptronic. Wish mine would do 500/tank.
What models yours ?

Re: Incorrect battery disconnection (the recovery)
Hi mine is same as yours 270 Y reg
500 is the max 74 mph with cruise for 95% of
275 mile journey no stop then return day after
same style of journey.
83 avg mph would return about 435 miles
going in to reserve with a 61 lts refill
Never done a round town prob under 400
No cats but that made little difference (not worth the bother)
275/55/16, 32 psi, new mad made no difference, had a new
electric pack in auto box £300, injector seal are mint
made all the tackle for pulling and reseating.
Like I said swirls are blanked off that made little difference.
