I have just popped into the dealers today to check if the recall parts that were ordered on the 12th Dec 2001 for my CC had arrived...
The Answer? Yes they had arrived after 3 weeks waiting..
Good, so perhaps I can book it in to have it fitted? The answer? NO...
The reason why? Apparantly Peugeot have now changed the recall, and the story from the dealer is this:
1: Peugeot have now instructed the dealer NOT to replace any Pin switches in ANY Cars...
2: The "wiring loom" that they checked on my first visit may not have been the correct area with a "possible" problem..
So its in next Monday to have another part of the loom checked and possibly re-routed!!!
So What the F*ck are Peugeot on!!! :0(( t***S!!!

So what do I do if my car has had the recall work done???
??:
Does it mean it will need some more work or do you think Peugeot will ignore the fact that some cars have already been in for the recall???
Peugeot couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery! (excuse the pun!)

They cannot even tell if any parts they have ordered are in the country or in France!!
I am still waiting for the starter motor to come from France, but no doubt inside a new car it is worth far more to them, than to a customer who already has parted with his monies. They cannot tell me if the part is in France or England. They communicate by Fax!!! Isn't that the 20th century technology where blobs of ink are sent across distances and spirted onto dried mashed up pieces of trees!!!!
What happened to these things called computers. I never realised I bought a car from a company whose technological know how progresses to a fax machine and better than that one that takes days to get an answer, they have had the car since the 22nd Dec 2001.
Maybe no one told them that they needed to change the paper when it ran out!!!

My CC went in for the recall (and first 6000 mile service) yesterday.
I have noticed a couple of things.
1) The engine note sounds different (at least at low revs) - if anything it appears to pull away better than it did (I could be imagining all this though)
2) The string pull thingy in the boot for the manual roof operation doesn't appear to be there any more
Weird. I assume the string pull thing is a problem (maybe they didn't rethread soemthing right after replacing the microswitch?) (later edit:0-- actually - it turned out to be me looking in the wron place for the pull thingy... silly me... oh well...)
