Hi guys/girls,
Just bought my wife a 2001 2.0 se in green. It was cheap and needs some work. Can anyone help with some questions:-
The display for the AC is not illumitated properly at night, is there a buld behind that screen or is it potentially bust for good?
The boot is very heavy and will not stay up.
Its very rattly and knocky - does anyone know if its the roof - does it have any sort of buffer to stop it making noise. I did pull on the back box and that is knocking somewhere so could be that. Its stiff like but doesnt travel much before it whacks into something.
Also are the bushes on the suspension reliable. does seem to crash over the smallest bumps.
Its got full peugeot history to 2009 and then again in 2012 covered 83k so i think its solid enough just maybe the fact that its French lol!!
We just got rid of a 60 plate RCZ because it started to show its heritage after just 20k its rattly and a hard drive.
Let me know if you can help.

Re: green machine
Hi john those subjects have been covered a few times here, so all your answers should be on this site.
If you use the search tool at the top you will find among other stuff...........
Bulbs
Struts
Knocking could be rear axle bushes or exhaust. You will need to jack it up and check for movement in bushes where trailing arms meet the axle torque tube. Also check clearance on exhaust, and all the rubber hangers.

Re: green machine
Thanks for that - I paid £1000 for a 2001 se in green with 80k on it - thought it was cheap so on drive home I thought I would replace all shocks and bushes pads and discs and fully over haul the suspension. just want to make sure its safe.
The rear axle bushes are they a tricky fix?
Thought of putting £500 into it to make it right. Seems to be good otherwise. no leaks and drives very well just want it to be less noisy/rattly. At the end of the day its a 1k 12 year old french car what should I expect!
