Today I had an unfortunate problem with the roof. Roof was down, went very carefully over a speed bump, but the alarm started beeping. Stopped the car, tried to raise the roof, nothing happened. Went to the boot, checked my baggage hadn't moved and the screen was still in place. Everything seemed OK, but the roof still refused to move and the alarm was still going off when the car was moving. Unfortunately, I was 1 1.2 hours away from home, husband was 2 hours away and rain was iminent. I had no choice but to go to the local Peugeot garage. They luckily got it in the workshop just before the heavens opened.
They ran a check and whilst they agreed there was a problem they couldn't find a fault, but they reset the system, tested it was all OK and handed it back.
In the circumstances I was screwed either way, but now I feel very very nervous about having the roof down incase it happens again. Which defeats the whole point of having a convertible.
Now I will study how to raise the manually just in case, but has anyone any suggestions what I should check if it should happen again and how can the system be reset by me rather than the nice people at the garage?
Any other suggestions as to what might have happened/what to do will be gratefully received.

Re: Roof Issue
I'd check the boot catch is adjusted correctly.

Re: Roof Issue
I hadn't even thought about that. I was sure it must be a jolted mircoswitch or the like. Although I was sure if that was the case, Peugeot would have picked that up.
Now I have had a little more time to read up on the subject, am I correct in thinking that a 'reset' is a manual proceedure, rather than something thats done to the computer system/car electronics?
Would you recommend ever trying a manual closure on a working car, just for practice? I really don't want to get caught out again but I also believe you shouldn't mess about with something thats not broken.

And one more thing. I don't have the string which the video shows you pulling to move the parcel shelf. Is there a way round this? Thanks
