Multifunctional display and non-original audio

Post by annetteczar »

Hello everyone, I am new here, so please don't be cruel if such a topic has already been discussed.

I have just bought a 206cc, and the thing is that there is not an original player installed. Its CLARION CZ509E. It has bluetooth handsfree installed, USB, AUX, CD, has a remote controller. It works well, however I am unhappy that the audio controller near the steering wheel as well as original multifunctional display are not working.

It is because it is not an original player installed?

Do you have any ideas, how can I make original multifunctional display and the controller near the steering wheel work??

Thanks for any help and assistance!

Yes. It only works with the original Peugeot radios. Before 2002 the radio had it's own display after that the radios had not display and had to work with the MFD.

You can't get the multifunction display to work with it but you might be able to get an adapter to work with the remote stalk.

Oddly enough, Peugeot fitted clarions as original equipment .. but not with bluetooth, etc.

You might find some more help on peugeotforums.com or 206info.co.uk regarding the audio in the 206 ... otherwise I'd avoid Halfords ... overpriced ... and try the internet ...

Not much more I can add sorry ... novice at audio as well ...

You can pick up the original units pretty cheaply on eBay, but then you need them coding to your car.
Anyone who has "Peugeot Planet 2000" software and the correct interface should be able to do this for you (I've done it), because all it means doing is putting your VIN number into the stereo when it's plugged into the car.
Everything should then work as it was designed to.

If you are looking to make the unit you have work with the steering wheel controls then something like this should do http://www.connects2.co.uk/ProductInfor ... CTSPG004.2, with the appropriate extra lead for your head unit. It gives full button functionality but you will usually lose the MFD display info. It is also possible that as it an aftermarket fitting then the BSI will need resetting, as mentioned above, to allow it to communicate. These cars are picky about what they will and will not allow at times, and the BSi is usually at the root of it
