Does anyone have any info regarding the roof latch switches, specifically if the are both open circuit when closed or is one closed circuit and the other open circuit?.
The one im working on is different between sides, when both switches have the metal arm depressed, one is open current and other is closed, just wondering if this is how it should be?.
Many thanks.

Re: Tech question on microswitches..
What you mean they work in opposition to one another, one being normally open and the other normally closed?
That doesn't sound right to me. I'm pretty sure they should operate the same way.
If you can hear them both clicking then you should get a "bong" as soon as the second lever is un-latched.
If you can't hear one clicking, then you may well have found your problem. Remove the entire striker assembly (carefully) and give the lever arm plenty of exercise until it consistently clicks.

Hi Enright, thanks for the response, I actually know you from another forum I frequent, LEC, I was the guy a few years back who put red S2000 seats in my pacific blue SE, at the time it had never been done, also discovered the mod of using Renault 19 convertible window seals.Chopped it in for a Exige s2 but I still miss my Elan.Enright wrote:What you mean they work in opposition to one another, one being normally open and the other normally closed?

Anyway regarding the micro switches, I have had both sides out with the latches and checked them, and yep they are operating in reverse to each other, when the spring is depressed one is open the other is closed current, when the spring is released the above is reversed, one closed the other open, when in situ on the car the strikers are operating as they should with both micro switches clicking open and shut.
I cant find any data which details this ATM so anyone here with specific knowledge on them would be a massive help.
When I unlatch (engine running, windows down, blind in boot in position) there is no bong, all fuses are fine and the pump definitely works, everything else on the car is working fine with no codes or running issues,
so basically at this time all I need to know is whether they should work in tandem to each other current wise or if this reverse to each other is correct.

Re: Tech question on microswitches..
Blimey, first time I've encountered someone on another forum from LEC!
Where are you? It would be worth putting your location in your profile in case there's anyone nearby with Peugeot Planet 2000. You need it to talk to the roof ECU through the diagnostic port.
It can then check the position of all the microswitches real-time, in case any of them are doing things they shouldn't (or not doing things they should).
