Reasonable Sony DAB radio??

Post by yellowplanet »

Hi there,
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Sony DAB radio that I could get for my '05 206cc and still have it work with the steering wheel stalk and dashboard display?

I'm not that great with things like this but I'm getting really bad reception with the factory fitted one and would like to try a DAB radio instead but dont want to lose the current controls or dashboard display. Maybe it's something that's not possible. I'll leave you guys to tell me - I'm in your hands.

It would be great if I could get all I need for less than £100 and don;t mind buying something from ebay to keep the price down. Just need some good advice.

Cheers,

Jon

I wouldn't bother with DAB if I were you, it will work well or not at all. In my experience reception if very poor so won't work most of the time. Depends where you are in the country though.

DAB has been a real failure for cars as all the big manufacturers apart from Audi have dropped it as an option, Audi want close to £1500 also as a factory fit. Don't believe the stories about the switch off of analogue radio signals in 2015-2020 - there is no chance. There are all sorts of targets they need to meet for coverage and population update and they are currently miles away from hitting them. The best projection now is 2035 or something. By then we'll probably have something better WiFi Radio maybe.
