Left Standing

Post by petethepond »

We have been away for a week and the car has been left standing at home!

Everything was ok before we left. but when we try to open the roof It "boings" ok to say the hooks have been opened but we get the "bing" "bing" when lifting the switch.

I guess its probably a micro switch somewhere, but thought i ask here, in case someone else has experianced it ?

Sorry to ask the obvious, but you have pulled the cover across in the boot?

Always operate roof only when engine is running and Not doing anything differant now that before going away !

Opened boot (tilted it backwards) maually to fit clear 3rd brake light (to match lexus style rear lights and clear spot light) and tried roof to make sure the side catches were latched and locked OK and the roof worked fine, but now, NOT !!!

Boot cover is in place and the boot lid lock back in place ok. Windows work fine but only the "bing" "Bing" when activating the roof switch !

Checks the mIcro switches and all seemed to be making contact OK.

Drove the car round our paddock a few times and........... "Whey Hey" !!! its working again OK

Must have needed a bit of a "rattle" just to settle the roof against all of the switches.

These are the best sort of fixes :D Glad it's working

As long as water isn't falling out of the sky, the roof can be down.
