Clutch Replacement

Post by tharetard »

Hi Guys

Clutch is very high on this car, so have it booked in to get changed with a friend (only £100)...

I need to buy the parts though... Do I need to buy one specific for a 206cc? Or will a normal 206 clutch work?

The car is a 52 plate.

I have found this part on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Peugeot-2 ... 1124303381

Is this everything I need for a clutch change? Do I need a cable too? The car has done 96000 miles without clutch change...

Cheers in advance

It says Quicksilver on the side of the door, but I have my doubts...

Hmm. No manufacturers name. I would buy a known brand such as Valeo (oe)
After all, you don't want to be doing it all again due to clutch judder, or release bearing failure.

The cable (if fitted) can always be changed later if need be.

Buy cheap- Buy twice!
Cheers Col.

Thank you for responding!

Will a clutch for a 1.6l 206 fit the 206cc?

Any benefit in fitting a stage 3 clutch? What difference would it make?

Probably horrible to drive on roads. Too snatchy. Might be ok for track where revs are always high. Bet it wouldn't last long either.

Stick with standard ... and yes, hatchback and cc clutches are exactly the same.

Peugeot and Citroen 1.6i are same too ...

I'd go for a Valeo clutch. They seems to be in favour at the moment.

Don't forget, fleabay isn't always cheapest .. and cheapest can be a recipe for buying twice and fitting twice ... try a proper motor factors (Not sure where you are but companies like Sutton Auto factor aka buypartsby.co.uk, Unipart, Allparts Automotive, etc should be ok)
