206cc new owner.

Post by tenpole »

I just bought this car from my step son. It needs some bits sorting out, the front seat belt seized so the non mechanical minded son tried to use the rear seat belt instead and now that one is broken as for some reason he opened the tensioner. Try to source a replacement looks like breakers but they want £35 each. Dealers want £180 front o/s and £150 r/o/s.

I also have an airbag light up but I have not had a chance to have a good look yet.

The model is still popular as I already have had some offers from people wanting to buy it off me already. The car is unsuitable for the family but I am hoping to get my L200 back on the road soon.

Hi and welcome.
The airbag light may have something to do with the seatbelt as they are part of the SRS (belt pretensioners)
2nd thing I would do is confiscate stepsons tools :big-grin:

EDIT: L200 Turbo or cracked head??
Cheers Col.

I did wonder if it was the pretensioners but they are on the buckle and I dont think they were touched. I don't know what went on but if it was this then a quick reset would solve it.

I did send a text about competent mechanics only in future.

Luckily neither. Just needs the crankshaft pulley. A number plate light, new tyre, mot, tax and insurance and it is good to go. Pity that adds up to almost a £1000.
