Engine management light

Post by Sarahlilywhites »

Engine management light on, saying anti pollution fault and cataylic converter fault, had new spark plugs fitted, new battery, new cam shaft sensor, new cataylic converter fitted, engine flushed through , cam sensor fitted, the car splutters and loses power when driving. Do I need to change the crank shaft sensor? Any suggestions would be grately appreciated thank you.

On what basis did you change the aforementioned parts, as a guess or as a result of fault codes? Some more info on exactly what car/ engine it is would help too.
Cheers Col.

It's is a 1.4 and it's done 51,000 milage, it started with the battery needing changing, then after diagnostics they said it had 14 faults, 3 garages later and still not fixed, now the diagnostics say air conditioning fault???
The year of the car is 2004, the car is drivable but when it hits 30 the engine management light comes on a says cat fault, anti pollution fault.....

Either the coil pack or an injector in that case.

It's worth swapping No4 with another injector and see if the fault moves. This will eliminate any wiring issues to the injector.
