Just joined and just to say *Hi*

Post by double_tap_that »

I bought my Peugeot 206cc few months ago and been reading past posts finding out some useful info so thought time to join!
Firstly, im from cornwall and i have a 2001 (Y) 206cc 1.6 16v in a lime green colour(?)
Which i do actually like hence why i bought it, It does come with a few niggles, all of which i can live with, i.e, slightly leaky roof, possibly a worn rubber, and makes a bearing rotating sqeak sound sort of noise when i start it up, but goes away when up to temp, no idea what it is but hey, its an old car and its just got its individuality.
But i do like it and im happy with it, plus on a good note, if im at Asdas carpark, least i can see it from a distance amongst all those grey silver cars lol.
Ps, I dont see many around and i think im the only one in my town with that colour? Are these sort of rare? or just not that popular?
Anyways! Hi guys and thanks for the great forum!

Hi Gary, welcome to the forum.

I wonder if any of the belts have ever been renewed. If not the timing belt, tensioner and pulleys are well overdue. Water pump too. Should be done at 10 years or 100k miles whichever comes soonest.

Silicon grease on the seals can help with roof leaks, but be very careful how you do it - don't get your roof stuck!

Read the owners manual thoroughly (especially about the roof operation) as most problems are self-inflicted by new owners.
