hi all.
been trying to sort out the mother in laws '03 2.0 206 gti. has a problem with anti pollution fault. have changed the air filter and fitted front and rear lambda sensors which has made a massive difference to the ways it runs, but am still getting the anti pollution fault and engine light coming on. seems to come on when the car gets up to temperature. occasionally it will have a little hiccup when it comes on but generally seems to be running well. any ideas what to try next would be greatly appreciated, i was thinking new plugs. map sensor?
cheers ferg

get the fault codes read on a diagnostuc system. Otherwise ypu are guessing and could be wasting money.

Re: anti pollution fault help please
Hi, I had the same problem for a while, Kwik Fit said it was the cateryst converter and the other mechanics said there were few codes that came up but then we reset/remove the warning light on the dash board. I was then told that if the light came back on then to take it back in for another test to find the actual/more definate error code. However, when the light came back on again I also had a bit of the problem with my battery and ended up having to replace the battery (warning light reset prior to new battery put in) and guess what.......no more warning light! no more "anti pollution fault" message.

Unfortunately most of them don't actually know what they are talking about ...Nemangel wrote:... Kwik Fit said it was the cateryst converter ...

No leak and I also had to have my battery replaced but still have the problem. Latest development, literally today
As for Kwik Fit, I've heard many people said things along the same line but then how do I go about finding a reliable and good mechanic/garage when I myself don't really know much about the care
