Read some posts to get tips to remove gear knob but none seem to work.
The top metallic ball seems to be separate to the black plastic base do they come off separately?
It twists but does not come off!

Re: Gear knob removal
Sorry for my english...but
Its quite simple.
When u move out this leather sack with frame just take jack from your trunk and put it into hole under sack. Engage first gear.....legwork upper side of jack to black plastic under knob and just....use jack. I did it last week. It took me maybe 5 min.
U must remove all black plastic with knob....not only knob
Good luck and dont worry...its easy

Re: Gear knob removal
On my hatch back you have to twist through 90 degrees then pull up. Not tried on CC ...

Re: Gear knob removal

Unclip the gaiter (1) from the central console .
Remove the knob-gaiter assembly by pulling upwards (A) .

Re: Gear knob removal
Trust to be sure I understood properly: I should use the wheel jack to remove the gear knob? Has anyone else tried it?Koyot wrote:Sorry for my english...but

I'm sorry, but I also have a very scratched knob and I'm not succeeding at removing the gear knob...
