Number plate light
I have not had a good look as around 16:00 it is getting too dark for me to see. How do I get to the bulbs on the rear number plate. Does the cover just prize off. Are the bulbs the capless type for the number plate light?

Re: Number plate light
Yes covers prised off but good luck ... on the CC they are so deep you'll be lucky to remove them without breaking the clear plastic .. which gets hard ad more brittle over the years. I think there is a diagram in the handbook ...
I gave up and simply bought two new light units from fleabay!
Yes they are capless bulbs. Again handbook should say what type ... I fitted leds to my hatchback to save having to worry about changing them again in a hurry!

Re: Number plate light
When I finally sussed out what to do it came off easy using Cols instructions. I did try removing trim to push it out from behind and various leverages as it was not clear about which "hole" we are refering too as there is a slot in the middle underneath which looks like it should take a small flat blade.
To avoid confusion for anyone trying to take the lens off the number plate light here is how I did it.
Open the car boot to present the number plate light. There are two number plate lights which have a rectangular cover with two circular holes at either end. Insert an electrical or thin scribe (in my case I used electric probes) into the left hand hole as you look onto it (n/s). Push down and move the handle to the right towards the cover. So your pointy end is moving away from the cover. The cover will just pop off. If you have tried numerous other leaverages and put gouges in your body and trim this will surprise you at how easy it came off. Replace bulb with a T10 capless bulb.

Re: Number plate light
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I wanted to do this job today due to blown bulb and wanted to add that I was able to do this using the given instructions.
Thank you.
Thank you.
