206 1,4 bva won't start

Post by zerzevat »

hello, I'm writing from Turkiye (city malatya), found this useful forum from google when looking help for my big problem.

I have a 206 2004 1,4 bva petrol+lpg, 85k kilometers. last year she began to stop while idle or going on road, all the time. We check many point like sockets, sensors and pp2000 didn't show any problems. and at last, she didn't started because of flat battery and i jumped it with cables from othe car and went about 5 kms. I parked it and it cranked but didn't start. I jumped many times. no fire! i changed the battery new and old ones many times- but didn't know that i had to make disconnect/connect battery prcedure. :(

I checked all the fuses. i changed the crank/volant sensor. no fire. it's cranking but no fire- no start. fuel pump is ok. enaugh fuel pressure. I carried the car to the pug dealer. they changed the coil pack. no fire.

the report says "ecu locked" and want to changed the ecu. sagem s2000 kfw or may be kwf

I think I must have a team "ecu - bsi and keys" from a broken car.

I saw that the ecu had been modified by the user before me. sealant in one area gane away and changed the flash unit-I think.

no cambelt maintanence, levels of fluids ok.

what have to I do? what is the meaning of "ecu locked"? how can we unlock it?

It sounds like the Peugeot dealer may be right. There are companies that can repair ECUs. There is one in England called BBA reman Site can be read in Turkish if it's easier for you.

thank you a lot for your answer. I would write you but couldn't. so I am so happy to see your answer here.

I saw the site. Reading in English is not matter - but it's a long time that I stopped reading and writing in English, as seen :)

there is a technician here that sells ecu from broken cars. he repairs ecu's - programs for new cars, too. but the price is too high. I can buy a set of "used ecu-bsi-key" from İstanbul as the same price. what would u prefer?

The problem with a used set is that it must have exactly the same number as the old one, and it may need adjusting for the options fitted to your car such as electric mirrors, or climate control if they weren't fitted to donor car.

I worked on the problem for 2 hours in dealer's garage. I checked all the fuses under bonnet, most of the connections, swithes and made bsi reset procedure. nothing different happend. it's cranking but no fire.

both of the keys recognised by the car. because when I ign on/off and open the door while the key was in ign.switch, it's chiming-beep beep beep.

but I spoke a dealer from Istanbul (car's old owner), he said when tried to start car with a flat battery, it may occure erasing the immo codes from ecu. so he said: "make a key coding"
I said "ecu is locked" he said "you may unlock it by pp2000"

I will work on it. is it possible to unlock the ecu by pp2000? what do u think?

This may be due to miss matched or faulty ecu (assuming you used a second hand one)
Were the numbers identicle?
What fault codes are you getting?
Cheers Col.

hi, again.
my 206 is wonderful now. I fixed all the problems. replacement is ok. there is no fault light nor fault code.

bu I have to say that the design of the air filter system is awful. it's the worst system I have ever seen.
I found out that there was some water inside, at the bottom of the air filter box. and air filter was really WET!

so 206 wouldn't breath normally!

I went to a garrage, put 206 on to the lift and saw that the system's beginning point was not at the right place (in front of the front left tyre). so the water had gone inside from the bumper. I stabilized it by a metal rope to it's normal place. no water-no problem! everything is ok now.

hey. all of you! 206 owners! check the air filter and the air sistem -at least twice a year.
