Windows go down after engine start

Post by cooknl »

Hi all,
my euro version 206 cc 1600 may 2002, has a problem with the windows/mirror switch.
I started the car and opened both side windows. When i got home wanted to put the windows back up, but the passenger side did not react to the button.
A friend removed his switch from a 206 1.4 and also removed my switch unit, he then plugged in the switch unit from the standard 206 and my right rear window went down automatically, after pressing the up button again both windows went all the way up, so I reinstalled the original window switch and locked the doors with the remote and went back into the house.

Went to a breakers and picked up windows/mirror switch which was checked to work with my cars vin number, but I still have a problem.

What is happening is weird when i try to open either window i have to press the DOWN button to open , and the UP button to close the windows, ALSO when i start the car the windows will automatically open after about 10 seconds when the engine is running.

Will a readout of error codes and then erase them solve this problem, or might it be neccecary to reset the BSI???

If anyone has an idea please chime in thanks,

Rob

ahhhhhhh i just read your post a few minutes after I put up mine, having the same issue brother here is my video and pics. I have a 206cc 2005

I am guessing that any switch after 2005, 2006 or 2007 is new with some small detail that causes this problem because the one I put in is a 2008 and it has this same issue. Maybe someone on the forum knows more, im debating getting one from a 2003 scrappy I have found. What year was the replacement switch you used from?
