Oil change

Guys i had my oil change this weekend by my BF...He said when he took out the sump plug a spring followed..shud there be a spring on the sump plug? neverseen or heard of this.

Nope, no springs .. did he keep it?

Wasn't a very thin coiled up sump thread was it?

Yes gazz it was a vr thin curled up piece of wire.

yeah still have it in case i needed to put it bk.

It sounds to me as if the female thread in the sump has been damaged. Maybe the sump plug had been overtightened in the past. The torque wrench setting is only 30 Nm (22 lbf ft). Keep your eye out for leaks. I always use a new washer and thread sealing gel.
