Hi Folks I wouldn't mind some advice here .

I was and still could be seriously thinking about buying a 206cc SE with leather interior. I currently own a 306 Cab and don't like the roof too much a bit noisy and sometimes leaks and the back window needs replacing I think it's about ready to crack.

I stumbled across this site and was horrified to read a whole host of threads from the problems section regarding complaints about the roof .

Problems with oil leaks, roof jaming, windows sqeaking etc, etc ! I have currently just experienced oil leaking out of the hydraulic pistons in the boot section of my 306 and have been hit with a heafty repair bill and the car is only 3 years old with 35,000 miles . I would hate to go for the 206cc and still have roof trouble .

Questions are, have these problems been sorted now and the new 2002 models are okay. Should I sell my car privately and get an import. Is this the best model to go for .........206cc se 2.0 manual.

To be honest wiht my own experiences and after reading these forums I have been totaly put off pugs all together .

Any advice would be appreciated especially if there are any traders out there that can advise about the import side of things . I have also just heard that they are stopping production of the 206cc and bringing out the a 207 version . Don't know any more details on that could be a rumour .

Cheers

Cakie, it appears that a lot of the roof problems have been ironed out on the 2002 models...these horror stories are becoming fewer and far between...maybe the monkeys have evolved? Go for it. You probably won't regret it!

even my dealer said yesterday that they get very few back now meaning the problems are not so common.

the 207 isn't due out until late 2004 / early 2005. the 207CC is unlikely to appear before 2006 or late 2005 at the very earliest but unlikely.

remember the 307CC is supposedly due at the end of 2002 but i haven't heard much recently so it has maybe been delayed ?

Hi cakie, welcome to the forum

In response to your latest post:

Surely it's not as bad as that! Derek seems quiet on it??
Actually Derek's story was that bad and was one of the longest CC sagas going. Check his earlier posts. Seems happy now though

Anyway just seen some pictures of the new 307cc . Not too bad I might hold off .
Yep there are a few 307cc pictures here and there on the net. I decided not to wait though and can always upgrade. It will be ages before it's available here.

I wonder what price it will come in at ?? Anyone heard ?? Sorry no idea

This is a cool forum !
Absolutely RIGHT. Plenty of friendly, helpful and funny people here

And should you or shouldn't you?... </>
GO FOR IT!!!

Glad to see SOME newcomers like the forum and recognise it for the wealth of information available on the CC if you're only willing to trawl through all the comedy and insane ramblings. Cheers Cakie!

cakie,

airdrie is around 12 miles away approx - i live in whitburn.

as rachel says my story is a bit on the long side so i won't go through it all but basically the CC i got in december had numerous problems and was eventually rejected.

as far as recommending dealers ........

arnold clark, tollcross, edinburgh is the one i used. after my rejection success we mutually agreed that i would recommend them in future but i will refrain from that for the moment and if there was someone from that dealer reading this in a senior position then i think they will know the reasons why - they have improved but it's time they fully woke up and provided the service customers pay for.

as for the rest of the dealers - never tried the glasgow side ones but the rest at this end are completely useless.

sorry, i should stop being so nice about them
