Hello All,
Recently bought a 1.6 2004 Allure in black with 65K on the clock and a years MoT for just over £1K. It's got a small scrape on one of the rear wheel arches, and a few small dents towards the rear of the car, but nothing that can't be sorted. Only other issue is the passenger window which has dropped by about 4mm which means it leaks a bit. The black metallic paint seems to scratch quite easily.
I've changed the oil and replaced all filters, cam and aux belts and associated tensioners and idlers, water pump, spark plugs and the two key fob batteries.
The car had been standing since last November because the owner had obtained a new lease vehicle (the CC had only really been moved for the recent MoT). It had been parked under a large tree so was pretty dirty when I viewed it, but I used that as a bargaining point. Car cleaned up really well, interior is in really good condition for the year, only thing that bugs me is one of the rear seatbelts is twisted and the belt buckle's gap where the belt passes through is so tight that none of the 'un-twist' tricks by folding the belt work.
Going to have the tracking checked this week, then its into Costco to get 4 Michelin Cross Climates fitted.
My last car was a 2003 Volvo S80 2.5D (re-mapped), manual gearbox. Fantastic motorway car, but it had reached the point where large bills were looming, and a job change meant I'm now no longer doing a 55 mile motorway round trip 5 days a week. I frequently read that the 1.6 CC is accused of being sluggish, the Volvo was a pretty rapid car and the CC feels just as quick...I'm also delighted that after 2 brimmed tankfulls its average is 42mpg (40% town short journey, 60% motorway).
Hope you all have a great week,
Ed.

Glad to see you. The 1.6 performs well for us. Got the right combo of power/mpg/VED taxation bracket/insurance.
Cheers Col.
