hi all

Post by dockrat »

:sorry:

Sorry to be coming straight on the forum with an issue I would not normally do the but its kinda important

Im about to buy a 2005 206 convertible hence this post here in the roof section right the car checks out fine everything seems to be a1 but on checking out the roof operationI had to open the windows manually then the roof opened and closed fine I've come home checked out some videos on youtube and most if not all open the windows for you when you've open the 2 roof locks and then operate the roof switch

is this normal or should i be thinking theres and issue if its just a simple reset or minor fault I don't mind sorting it myself but not really knowing these cars at all I thought it best to ask an expert

anyways thanks in-advance regards Terry aka dockrat

Hi Terry and welcome.
The windows should lower as the first stage of roof operation. Strangely, you have to manually raise them when you have closed the roof.
You could have an ECU problem, and that could prove expensive. Unfortunately there is no easy check you can do. You need PP2000 to interrogate the roof ECU to make sure everything else is OK.

If you are buying from a dealer, get them to sort it, if buying privately negotiate the price down.
Cheers Col.

Thanks Capncol its all sorted now it was the guy I bought it from not using the correct procedure to open it I got there this morning armed with a wealth of knowledge gained from here (read loads last night) and it works exactly as it should although the hydraulic motor needs topping up a little its just over a third full from what I've read it should be 2 3rds full other than a few minor dents and scratches for what i paid I'm happy .

Well the wife is lol
