Roof Electrical Woes

Post by prob1 »

Evening all, hopefully someone can shed some light on my roof issues. PP has given me the following messages on my 2002 Plate 206CC :

Right Windows - Rest
Left Windows - Rest
Retractable Switch - Not Controlled
Luggage Compartment - Closed
The Tray - Pulled
Boot Lock Left and Right - Not locked
Boot Switch - Closed
Lock Handle Right - Locked
Lock Handle Left - Locked
Roof Closed - Yes
Sun Roof - No
Rear Parcel Shelf - Exit

Luggage space open switch, boot locked switch right and left, roof open switch, roof closed switch, short circuit to positive

Permenant fault rear parcel tray

Right....hope that makes sense to somebody :) I have a donor vehicle I can rob switches from if required and the hydraulics seem ok as when i operate the switch the pump engages, the beeping from the dashboard is driving me bonkers though so I would like to get on top of the roof problem ASAP, any help at all would be appreciated.

Thanking you kindly :love-thx:

I have to push down on the corner to get the boot cover to lock properly.

yes they dont seem to want to engage tenpole they take some hoofing to get them to lock into position.

thanks for the input col, id be right out there checking them out this weekend had the syncromesh not failed on thursday morning during rush hour in Lincoln city centre causing a traffic jam so its back at the garage having its gearbox changed (thats another £120 for the labour, good job its just had a new clutch / bearings / cylinder in the old gearbox to put in the new gearbox eh be like triggers brush soon)

im assuming boot lock left and right is quite literally the boot lock, it does feel a little "spongy" if that makes sense, will have to pull it apart and have a butchers next weekend if shes back by then

I did with a moderate degree of success :)

levered the microswitch off each catch and found the little metal clips were bent and one of the switches was not operating, good soak with contact cleaner, straightened the clips and taped them up and the fault cleared, no more beeping! didnt have time to refit properly as the heavens opened so have just left them out of situ for now and I will refit them when the weathers a bit better

it was very satisfying when PP reported "No fault found" !!

lets hope it stays that way !!

incidentally, they should supply you with a copy of PP2000 when you buy a used peugeot 'cos your gonna need it eventually !!
