Roof not opening

Post by BevH86 »

Hi guys

Completely new to Peugeot never mind the 206cc :big-grin:

I bought mine on Sunday at the guy ttied to tell me all sorts but I just took it at the bargain price and stuck it straight into my local garage! new exhaust, coil pack and spark plugs and to be fair it's running luvly now it's just the roof won't open! I have read a few of these now and I'm unsure as to what the "bong" noise is but I put the windows down, unclipped the roof, held the roof button down and can hear some sort of motor noise but the boot does not pop up to start the process of it folding.I have watched some videos on manually bringing the roof down but my pull cord seems to be missing and I gave no Allen key

Any idea on some steps I can take?

If the motor is running, then it may be low on oil or the release valve is loose (that is what the allen key is for)
Cheers Col.

My tab got "swallowed" into the slot, so I prised the blind out with a screwdriver. Do that, and if the tab is lost, just attach another from a curtain supplies shop.

I've managed to figure out the manual opening of the roof and even got it so it doesn't beep when I put it back down, I've also established what the confirmation "dong" is now it's just the roof button doesn't even put the windows down, should I look at the micro switches in the front of the roof or something if it's the first stage that's not happening?

You are correct that the windows will not lower on the roof control if the micro switches at the front are not both working correctly. Someone managed to sort his out with a spray of switch-cleaning fluid, so you could be lucky.
