roof wont open

Post by sirus »

Hi all,
Bought my first cabriolet about a week ago, happens to be a 206cc pug :big-grin:

(Its a 2 litre, 2002 model, with 70k on the clock. Got it at a bargain price but considering it got impounded in the first few days costing me £305 by the local scavengers, 3 new tyres, an oil change, and still work to be done on it including diagnostics and brake pads, its working out quite dear)

Anyway, the roof won't open also. I undo the latches and press the roof button, hear a couple of beeps and nothing else happens.
Can anyone guide me as where to begin to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

There are quite a few possible causes - microswitches, lack of fluid in the hydraulic unit..... Sometimes, the roof ECU has disabled the roof because it has determined that there is a problem which may cause damage. In this case, I believe it has to be reset with Peugeot Planet 2000 diagnostic system.

There is an excellent collection of threads in the Roof forum here. I suggest you read the "stickies" first.

Thanks IanL and Capncol,
Yea I've tried it with the blind drawn and retracted(?).
Guess diagnostics it is then. The guy who done my tyres quoted £25 for the diagnostics. Don't know if he'll be using planet Peugeot though.
I'll go through that thread and see where I stand. Guess I'm not really fussed as its winter but would be nice to have it all functional.
Thanks again lads, you might still hear from me once I get started on it.

The stickies are the posts at the top of the list, marked with a plus sign in the middle of the icon.

Afaik only Peugeot Planet 2000 can diagnose and reset the roof ECU.
