Roof issues

Post by Drewm78 »

Hi all. I'm new to the forum as I've only just invested in a 206cc. I bought it knowing the roof had an issue. Its a 2006 model. According to Peugeot (from the previous owner) their diagnosis was a new HPU KIT which I think is the whole roof system. I had a fiddle one day literally looking in to the pump area and checking the fluid level (full) and locating the roof Ecu (looked fine). I then got the bong noise when undoing the 2 catches and the roof operated partially then stopped. I had to manually drop and then raise the roof to get it back to closed position. So this is where I'm at!

1. I'm assuming the micro switches in the roof are OK is it 'BONGS'.

2. I have replaced the ecu with a 2nd hand one and no change.

3. I have a 2nd hand pump to put in but I'm not sure how difficult a job it will be. Anyone done this before?

4. I would love to go through a process that will manual reset the hydraulics and get the roof to 'zero' so to speak before I take it to peugeot to ask for assistance!!!

5. Does anyone live near salisbury who knows what they're doing and we can have a look together. Food and drinks supplied!

Thanks in advance and apologies for the lengthy Virgin thread

My guess is that one of the other microswitches moved when it shouldn't have (or failed to move when it should have) during the cycle. Maybe the rear shelf?

Anyway, my advice is not to go to a Peugeot dealer - they do not have the expertise, and just change parts on spec. The experts are here.
