Returned home parked car. Decided to move car as had parked on an angle, this was an hour or so later so car had been at rest. Reversed car about 5 foot straightened up and pulled forward again...parked.
Next morning problems starting car...fired on 2 then 3 as if damp...after warmed up everything back to normal.
Had this same problem with the old Nissan model...RAC said was well known problem if car is just moved a few feet having been idle for some time.
Anyone else had this problem...any solution apart from driving for a while instead of just moving a few feet.
Seems car HAS to be reversed first.

Re: Same problem as Nissan
No reason reverse should make any difference. The engine doesn't know which way it's going.
'Course it would help to have some more detail.

It's as simple as that....car not used for a while. When used moved a few feet...left for a while and then starting problems.

Assuming its a petrol engine, it sounds like the plugs are fouled. Have a look.

petrol and plugs ok....this problem only happens after car has been moved a few feet.

Re: Same problem as Nissan
Another possibility is that the fuel injection firmware is being misled somehow by the short running period, and is supplying too much fuel.
Next time it happens, try this (the battery needs to be well charged):
Switch off ignition. Press accelerator to the floor and keep it there. Switch on and continuously crank the engine until it begins to "kick" (intermittent combustion). At this point, release the accelerator but continue cranking. If it starts, it suggests that it was over-fuelled - the cranking with the accelerator fully pressed cuts off fuel injection, and the engine acts as an air pump, depleting the fuel in the chambers, drying out the plugs. The procedure is exactly the same as the "flooded carburettor" of old.
