Well the weather gods have been smiling down on us all today here in the UK and thought what better time than a long drive to the coast and back.As usual the roads through Wales were quite congested in parts especially around Llangollen. It took nearly 30 minutes to pass through, but did I care?
Not one bit.
With the hood down I just chilled in the slow moving traffic soaking up the warm sun whilst watching everyone else couped up in there tin topped cars sweating it out.
Once I cleared Llangollen the roads opened out a bit and it was nice to feel the outside with the top down. The roads are bendy with a few hill climbs along the way but the 2 litre engine made short work of them and the sharp handling made the twisties good fun. From Bala to Harlech the scenery was stunning. From picturesque lakes, long straight deserted roads to big hill climbs and twisty narrow sections, the little Pug took it all in its stride.
From Harlech I cruised along the coast road heading south..
By now even the windows were down and was in full convertible Miami Vice mode
After spending some time chilling out at the coast it was time to head back home which was pretty much uneventful apart from enjoying the car.I covered around 180 miles today and it ran faultlessly.i averaged 44.5 mpg on "not so very ideal roads" so I was really pleased with that too..
All the very best,
