Ive sold my car !! im carless !! OMG!
my CC is in the country though, but the
salesman i just spoke to was less than helpful really.

Okay! so AXA won't suspend my insurance, they will only put a note on my account saying i dont need insurance for 2 weeks.

So ive lost two weeks of insurance.

Just to add to insult, i asked for a quote again on my insurance for the remaining two months !! last week it was 38 pounds, this week 58 !!!!! [insert bad language here]

most companies claim that they will honour quotes for 30 days (some mor ethan that).

If you asked for the price for the last few months of your policy with a CC instead, then surely this is a quote.

Tell to bog off and make em give it you at the rate they quoted 2 weeks ago.

Use their own bullshit to trap em

Fraid not, before giving the quote they made it quite clear it was only valid today.

well if your policy only has a few months to live then ask to speak to a manager.

Explain that you will take you business elsewhere if they want to treat customers in such a way.

Usually works for me.....

I've been lucky then as I sold my car ready for my CC and then was told I would not be getting my CC until September. I'm with Elephant.co.uk and they were more than happy to suspend my insurance and give me a refund once I start the insurance again for the CC.

i can't honestly fault Axa. when i got my CC i cancelled my Egg policy as they were extortinate (and took 2 months to issue a refund - not recommended to use them). Axa gave the best quote, allowed me to register four different courtesy cars, one of them for over 4 weeks and then transferred the policy to the replacement CC FOC. they did get a bit funny just at the end when they wouldn't let me extend the cover on the 307 courtesy car for another few days as it had already been covered for 4 weeks - but a good shout at them about how they should treat their customers did the trick
