I don't have a problem with it if it saves a few lives. The trouble is is that people come up with these initiatives in isolation. There has to be a more creative strategy to traffic reduction, and death reduction. This in itself won't do it.
I know how frustrated I feel when someone is driving at 30mph - feels like I am crawling. Watch out for the increase in road rage.
Having said that, at 20mph, it gives people a chance to admire my car.... I can pose more than I already do!!
coooool baby

Not quite sure about that. I am aware that many of the speed cameras don't actually have film in them because of the prohibitive costs. Therefore more people get flashed at with no resultant penalties than get flashed at and fined.this clearly a money spinner i am sorry.
I suspect that it's designed to be a deterrent but I don't think it will be effective.
Maybe it's conditioning. We get used to 20mph, then 5 years down the road to 10mph. Maybe the idea is that in 30 years we have to carry our cars to work.

i dont agree. i feel quite safe doing 90 on the motorway. and i adjust my speed to the condition of the motorway, how heavy the traffic is and weather conditions. however i would never speed oustide a school. therfore cameras would be better served oustide school etc.... they want to catch you. they want the money. seatbelt fines for example. shouldnt it be my choice if i want to endanger my life? a 30quid fine for a seatbelt is just daft. they are all money spinners.
