Had to swerve to avoid a minibus using my street as a cut thru (B£%*!:d). End result kerbed alloy ! . This isn't the only damage to the wheels and I now want to get them sorted out !. Any suggestions on the best course of action ?. Cost etc ?.I can't really have the car off the road for an extended period !.

Are they sooo bad that you cant drive it ???
I kerbed mine and had them filled/sprayed by a local guy who comes out to your house.

Cost is about 40 quid a wheel but the finish was really nice....

Take a look in your local yellow pages ...

No the damage is very cosmetic. Just a small area on the protuding rim. The 206cc alloy rim is near enough flush to the tyre so any knock and you've had it !. I just want to ensure that the wheel doesn't deteriote + cleaning it will be a pain as there is a razor edge there now !

I had a similar occurence, but swerving to avoid a maniac in a Pug 205. She took my wing mirror off, I caught the kerb, she payed £100 for a new wing mirror, I payed (..Rob) £100 for a new alloy and tyre. In my 19 months of driving the CC that was my only kerbing incident, THEN the missus did some serious damage the other week to one of the rear alloys, I'll wait 'til she kerbs it again, then follow M275's advice I think (cheaper than a new wheel every time !) The good thing about getting the new alloy was I now use the old (kerbed) alloy as a spare (I would NOT rely on tyre-weld after having a flat earlier this year - with the mammoth hole that was in my tyre I am not sure te weld gunk would have fixed it)
