When i brough my pug i thougth i was just unlucky when things started to go wrong. After discovering this site it's quite clear that i was not alone!!

Is there anyone out there who has a car that has not encountered any problems?

If there is someone can they tell me which dealership they brought it from, i might buy my next car from them?

:( :) :( :) :( :)

Someone actually asked this before and there were quite a lot of replies, so don't despair if they don't reply. An internet forum has a bias towards people with problems too.

So CC without problems definitely do exist :D I think it's luck of the draw though, rather than which dealer you get it from.

I was quite suprised that the same problems arose again and again. I thought that peugeot would have solved a few after the car has been on the market for 3/4 years now!

I guess i have a lot to learn as well, this is my first car so i think that's why i am more p**sed off than most!

I hate to scare you but the car was released for purchase 2 years ago this month (not it the UK as it was delayed until March 1st 2001) and they still cant (more like cant be BOTHERED to) get it right.

So exactly how long does it take before the CC starts to go wrong??

Had mine for 4 weeks, but despite disgusting weather it has not leaked (now busily touching wood, crossing fingers etc)

Although I do have a problem with the dealer and lack of sports pack, but thats not really the cars fault!!!

it's just your luck with what you get but problems aren't limited to peugeot.

...and if you think peugeot service departments are bad you should see my local ford ones. if i owned a ford i would be in prison for murder as they are just totally thick and useless and i don't even think i would be able to change them.

long boring saga but my 1st CC would have been 1yr old on friday but it was rejected due to numerous problems although the leak was the only fault not fixed after the 2nd attempt. the replacement i got on 20/3/02 has only suffered from squeaky brakes and a loose carpet - not the end of the world.

Sorry to say it, but it isn’t just luck. Common sense also comes in to it.

I have had my car 18 month and have done 10k and the only problems I have encountered have been when I have not used my common sense. Breaking the jack in one instance, whoops! For which my local Peugeot garage had no problems in replacing.

I encountered the dodgy idling once and this was due to my impatience. When starting up my car, I didn’t give the car a chance to idle correctly and immediately pulled away. Not a problem just turned off the engine and allowed the car to initialize properly.

No leaks No roof problems, but then I do not repeatedly open and close the roof without the engine running. As for squeaks- Had some brake squeal at about 6k, but disappeared at about 7k and on cold days the windows make occasional cracking sounds against the rubber seals, but disappears once the car has warmed up.

At the end of the day you have to take into account that these cars have loads of kit on them and the more kit on a car, the more there is to go wrong. The only thing I would say against Peugeot in reference to my car is that they should put some of these operating recommendations in the customer handbook. Having never had a real problem with my car it gets my back up to read other peoples problems with their CC. If you don’t like it sell it, take it back or reject it. Surly if you see in the press and on web sites such as this one, in reference to all the problems, then why does anyone buy CC’s? I brought mine before any problem were highlighted and if I had waited and read said problems I wouldn’t have brought a CC. Thank my lucky stars that didn’t happen.

Why do you buy anything at all? After all, I bet you could name almost any product and somebody will have had a problem with it.

People want a car and accept that there may be the odd problem. However, these problems should then be sorted out by the dealer. It's the fact that the dealers don't sort them out which is the real issue, not necessarily the fact that there is a problem in the first place.

If these problems were part of the design, then nobody would buy the car. Since they're not, one has a legal right to expect that the problems will not occur or that they will be put right within a reasonable time at no cost to themselves.

Totally agree. My CC has taught me a valuable lesson. (DO NOT BELIEVE EVERTHING YOU READ). However I don’t think it’s a good idea to buy something that has a big question mark beside it and that is what has happened to the CCs reputation. Hence why I have tried to re-balance the scales. I only want to express that in my experience with the CC has been great and trouble free. Lucky me, but as I already tried to point out in my last email, its not just down to luck. If you rely on luck then luck comes in to it! Hence investigate a product before you shell out 16k on it. Would possibly be a good idea!

Having had terrible experiences with garages in general. You won’t mind if I pass, reject or sell on, a car that is going to be in a garage every other week. Fortunately at present I don’t believe the CC is such a car.

My cc is 7 months old and i have had a problem for every one of them! It also takes the dealership 2-3 attempts to fix the problems. I am still waiting for new seals for the roof and doors. They ordered ones for a standard 206 last time and now tell me the cc ones are on back order!

when it comes to people saying they have continuous problems with their CC or anything else for that matter and it always takes 2-3 attempts to fix then i get a little fustrated.

i ask the question - why ?

if you let anyone, i.e. a dealer take you for a mug then that is exactly how they will see you. if you accept repairs never been carried out successfully then that is what you will get. if i accepted 2nd class service from my dealer then i would never be disappointed as that is what i would get.

i don't accept it, they know it, and i don't have a problem. that applies to any service provider for me, they may get it wrong once but not a 2nd time.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I have spoke to the manager and complained to Peugeot UK.

I think my main problem is my age! As i am 19 i think they get the impression that i am thick. As i am only able to drop and pick my car up at the garage in the evenings after work it gives me little time to check the car out.

When i spoke to the manager last he said when the car is in next i can take it for a drive with the service manager so i guess that is what i am going to have to do.
