With the help of the posts in this forum, I now have my Kenwood Z828 running properly in my multiplex CC.

Took the lighting wire from the ashtray light and the accessory power from the glovebox light. Didn't need to remove anything apart from the ashtray and the glovebox light (oh, and some skin!)

Most awkward bit was sorting out the glovebox wire - not much spare on this so didn't have much room to work in, but got it all sorted now.

Just need to get peugeot to deal with the BSI thing for peace of mind (saw some strange things when I was installing such as "Economy Mode On"...! Any ideas what this means?)

Economy mode is the car powering down the electric systems while the engine is off to help conserve battery.

I'm still not convinced that the glovebox light wire is rated highly enough. When you consider that the HU can draw up to 200W, that's nearly 17A through a wire that looks rated for a maximum of 5A. That's why I took mine from the lighter socket wire - looks more like 30A :D

Yeah I was thinking about he glovebox light wire being a bit thin as well.. and I tend to drive my kenny quite hard! May investigate using the ciggy lighter instead, just looked a bit more difficult and it was starting to get dark!!!

I did mine at night using the courtesy light to illuminate my work :D

Seriously, the hardest part is getting the blade connector onto the wires through the small gap of the window/mirror switch aperture.

Still only takes a minute though.

I know this been discuss b4, but can one of you guys explain quickly to me here...
can i just take the wires coming in the old standard head unit and use that for the new one?

OK, re-wired the radio ignition feed to run off the cigarette lighter wire so I'm now happier with turning it up loud! Had no real problems lifting up the various panels to get to the wires (once I had the guts just to pull the damn things hard!), except I couldn't pull the ciggy lighter itself all the way out, so just pulled the connector from the bottom of the lighter and worked that way instead.

Whilst it was light & I had the car in bits I started looking at ways to route a power wire from the battery into the cabin (for an amp in the boot). I've seen the pics and description of sending it down the air scoop through the small hole in the bottom, but could never figure out where the wire would come out (just goes inside the wheel arch and never emerges anywhere)! Any ideas please?

You did more than me then. After I couldn't get the lighter out I just worked with the wire through the hole for the window/mirror switches without even disconnecting it from the lighter. :P
