I noted after a couple of days after picking up the CC I got a noise that sounded like something was hitting the rear window and the another clunk when the rear parcel shelf moved in.

This morning I looked in the boot and noticed the cord that manually operates the parcel shelf was hanging out a couple of CM's. I recall when I picked it up the plastic bit on the cord was pushed into the hole so it wouldn't hang. I put it back this way and the noises appear to have gone. Have only tried retracting once, and will check again. I wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Hi Frosty
yes this cord must be firmly pushed into the hole. It sould not then come out. I had a problem with mine when I got the car last March as I had no manual and the dealer did not tell me that the white plastic thing should be in the hole and not hanging. Eventually it fell off and the roof jammed. Peugeot sent a technical engineer out to me who replaced the cord and explained it should be tightly pushed in.
Hope this helps

Thanks Liz, before I got your note I did as you suggested pusging the plastic thingy in firmly, and all now seems ok. I must check my manual and see whether there is anything about it in there. Seems I caught the problem in time to avoid what happened to you with it breaking.

Thank you very much for your interest and taking the time to confirm the problem and solution.

As far as I'm aware the white plastic plug is the bit you pull if the roof screws up. So if its hanging out I'd presume a catch was undone in the mechanism, making the clunk.

Anyone had to pull theirs in anger yet?

I pulled mine off the other day by accident fnarr fnarr.

The white cord is for manually releasing the rear parcel shelf thingy before manually closing the roof in the event of roof failing to go back up.

P.S. I'm the sad bugger that watched the video clip of the procedure load of times.

Well sticking the little plastic sucker into the hole has fixed the problem. The two noises were

1) rear window hitting the little plastic things, and
2) the cord retracting when the parcel shelf engaged during retraction cycle

I've drawn this to the attention of Peugeot Australia, suggesting

1) a sticker over the hole the cord comes from saying that it needs to be securely seated
2) include this information in the pre-delivery briefing by the dealer

We'll see what happens. I've looked throught the manual and can't see any specific reference to it needing to be considered in the correct operation of the roof.

Maybe owners should write an owners-owners manual - now there's an idea!

I don't see why they couldn't have just had a clip for it...

My white cord tends to dangle a little too!

To put it back in... do you you just push it in or do you have to pull it out all the way and then release it? I have never touched it for fear of screwing something up?!

Cheers.

just push it back into it's little hole

DO NOT PULL IT OUT AS IT MAY COME OFF.

(see my tech video clips or your CC manual for more help)

Surely the white cord shouldn't come out on its own accord (assuming it hasn't been bumped out with the shopping). Surely pushing it back again will only result in it coming out once more, unless someone looks at the job?

Do you guys have Blu-Tack or something similar over there you could try?

Blu-Tack (in Oz) is some soft squishy sticky stuff you can buy to stick posters on walls and for similar purposes. Why not try using something like that to keep it in the hole?
