Hi everyone

Just thought I'd say hi to everyone. I've just picked up my 'Aluminium Grey" 206cc from Asquith and Johnstone today. What a shame it's a rainy weekend!!!

P.S. I was so shocked to see the baby seat in the boot when i picked up the car!!! Why do they include the baby seat???

It's there so that it can meet Australian design rules. Australian rules do not allow airbags to be switched. It's a requirement that if you were to put a child seat in the front you'd have to turn the passenger airbag off. Thus, the only option is the rear seat. Due to the design of the CC Peugeot had to provide one that would fit it.

Mine's in the back shed and won't see the light of day until the day I sell the car! Don't sell the seat though, as technically for it to be roadworthy it must be sold with the seat.
Cheers

hahaha... mine is unopen so i cant tell ya, but there is a latch just below the hoop for that purpose... i think its in Australian model only, if ya in uk ya wont have the latch, if you look at photo of some AU owner notice the little plastic bit where the hoop is... frankly i rather not have it, stupid ugly thing sticking out below the hoop :x

Australian delivery vehicles are modified upon import. They add two anchor points underneath each of the hoops. The seat anchors to this and the rear seat belt is also used.

Hey guys.
about that baby seat, when i picked my car up, i said that i'm never gunna have any use for it, and the dealer just told me to put it in the trading post.
when ya think about it, if ya keep the car for years, there's going to be new advancement out there, and you'll find the baby seat will no longer be australian standards approved, by that time.
i'm not sure why they told you to keep it, because i can't see the logic in that. my dealer told me to sell mine.

Would it ont affect the resale though - if the baby seat is essential for it to be road legal (you never know what laws are going to be around when you sell the car), you may have problems selling the car in the future. Just a thought - over here in OK we don't have this issue!

So you have to buy a new seat, when you sell the car - not mentioning if it will fits.

If you sell the car without the seat, there going to be legal issues, think of it as part of the car.
It might seem trivial but - Let say you sell the car without the seat, the new owner sit his child in the front seat and something happen airbags go off and the child got injured, what happen then :?: you'll never know what how the law going to play (any personal injury lawyer here?), better safe then sorry.

Ian, I'd be insisting the dealer supply one - and at no charge. It is a standard part of the car and as mentioned it is technically required to be sold with the car for it to be compliant.
Cheers
