ive had one rear speaker replaced because it was blown apparently. however i still have very poor quality sound from the rear speakers, especially when listening to AM radio talkback.
the left rear seems worse and buzzes/distorts almost to the extent of making it unlistenable. it seems fine playing CD's and music on FM, but some of the talking can show the same problem as AM.
after the speaker was replaced i told them it was no better and they had another look and said a piece of plastic trim was touching the rear speaker causing it to buzz and fixed it, but now its on the left. taking it back again to get the roof leak looked at they said the radio is fine for music and that is the level they look to determine whether its ok or not. (sounds dodgy to me...)
just wondering if it is how the speakers in the CC are or have i got a bad set?
thanks,
Ian
crappy sound - particularly on AM radio

Frosty,
how much are ya lookin' at to get that sorta work done?
That's exactly what i'm wanting to do to my car too. JB HiFi up here in qld, tried to flog off a whole new head unit (when he saw my car, he immediately saw dollar signs, and thort i was loaded!) and get the whole kit and kaboodle! but, for obvious reasons you can't get rid of the head unit. He told me i'd lose a hell of a lot of information, and they can't guarantee that anything, in the head up display would work after they remove it.

You can replace the head unit and still retain the display via adapters but I decided against this for reasons of budget and that upgrade of the speakers and the amp was really what I needed. I'm 100% happy. With regard to the cost of the equipment, drop Trung a note and see what he can suggest for replacement speakers and an amp. He'll get you a keen price I assure you. I had the install done by Strathfield and they did a brilliant job. I put the amp under/behind the front passenger seat as I didn't want to chew into boot space. Cost of the install was $280 and I reckon it was money well spent.
Cheers
