So after having my car for three days (and me only owning it for two after my March 1st pick up - see "HELP!" for further info) the monkeys finally mangaed to mend the quarter light window.

I got it home and had a good look and realised that the two windows do not butt up like the other side. If I move the quarter window slightly I can reposition it but surely I should not have to do this every time I use the windows?!

Anyway I really needed to finally go for a drive in my new car and guess what - the drivers side window and quarter light now rattle like you would not believe - the passeneger side is silent. Will I have to send my car back for days on end or is this an easy problem for the monkeys to fix?

Any ideas anyone?

Looking forward to your comments!

Stephen, since the windows usually run up and down on a guide rail inside the door I'm surprised your having rattles and fit problems. If they can't fix it a second time I'd be tempted to consider rejecting the thing since it seems a bad omen for the future.

At the very least it sounds like you'll have to insist on that free windstop and bootrack as compensation.

Robbie.

I agree with Robbie, start hinting at rejection and the see about the compensation. Dont agree not to reject if they offer you compensation.

Also which dealer is it ??

Hi Rob,
The dealer is Godfrey Davis on Mansfield Road in Nottingham.

I will be going in over the weekend to discuss the situation.

Its a real shame as the car is sooooo cool but these problems are tainting my experience.

As I mentioned previously I have had no sort of aplology at all for any of the problems that I have incurred - where is the customer service?

Like me with my delayed car coz of the garages 'cock up'

I am going to talk to the owner on Monday, last time I had a problem he kicked someones but and hey presto it was sorted.

stephen,

with the car being so new and low/minimal mileage, i would tell them you want to reject it. i'm sure that will get some action, but maybe get some written clarification (if you want to keep it) that if you get continuous problems then they will replace it.

my car was rejected due to a water leak as they failed to fix it twice. i could have allowed them to have another attempt but by that point i had had enough of continuous problems and didn't want a car like i had - a lemon.

i was in a tricky situation as my car had a fault that was repairable so i didn't have real reason to reject it - an interesting conversation with the general manager changed this quite quickly

regards

derek

p.s. do we pay more for a lot of words or is it by the message
