Electrical 206CC problems

After 5 months of waiting I finally got my new CC SE at the start of the month. I thought all was fine having played with the roof a few times, driven in rain without suffering from leaks etc - but then the other day with just over 1000 miles on the clock, whilst cruising down the motorway at 70mph all the dials went dead, all lights went off and all I got was the flashing STOP light. Haven't a clue if I had power steering & brakes as I'd only had time to ease off the power by which time (ie a few seconds later) everything came back to life. I've seen other posts which describe problems with the engine cutting out but I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Gareth

This is A KNOWN PROBLEM with Multiplex cars.

My Friend suffered the same thing at night on the motorway in his new 307.

Take it to your dealer and take no crap, it is a posible killer this one.

If they say there are no known problems then tell them that a 307 HDi in Aegean blue had the same problem at Blackshaws in Burton-on-Trent. It belongs to a Mr Cheung and if they need more than that I can let you know what he had for lunch as well if they like

Thanks - it's good to know I'm not going mad and seeing things.

I just hope I have more luck convincing my local dealer that others have had the same problem than the time the coil pack went on my 306 (as it had done for all my colleagues who had Peugeots, multiple times in some cases) - yet they kept insisting I was the first.

I'll let you know how it goes...

Its simple - if they don't believe you then tell them to come and look at the forum!
I am sure if they haven't checked it out already they will probably learn more on here than at their monkey school!

In fairness to my dealership it went in today and after a day in the workshop they say they've fixed the fault.

The only noticable thing is that it now has less oil in than previously (and they cleaned it which saved me a job) - but hopefully that's the last I'll see of the fault.

Touch wood - no - but looking at other people's posts it seems Peugeot have loads of different ways of fixing this (new software, replacing the dials, etc) so it doesn't fill me with hope that the problem will never return.

I just have a small matter of a cracked exhaust manifold to contend with at the moment. After 3 or 4 weeks on order I'm really hoping it will come in soon...
