Hey peoples, after some incredibly troubled times with my car, i'm happily trading it on a new BMW 3 Series Sport.
After:
-warranty respray - entire rear end
-dashboard sinking
-passenger side cv joints starting to click (the car's only got 24000 k's on it)
-roof mechanism is making an incredible knocking sound
-a very prominent exhaust manifold problem/noise at acceleration
-and a annoying stereo that reprograms the memory and changes every setting to 90.90 at every chance it can get
-and a rattly bearing sound in the engine
and not to mention the incredibly bad after sales service both at dealer level, and in the service department (City Automotive Group, Newstead, Brisbane), it's time that i just bit the bullet, and got rid of the car.
although throughout these times, it's been an awesome car with a good 'wow' factor, it's sad that the quality doesn't equal the looks.
I must admit, it isn't with much regret that it goes - unfortunately.
I wish that i'd done my research on the car beforehand.
I got a relatively ok trade for it.
Wish you all well and best of luck with the future,
(for anyone who's recently purchased one, if it's any help, even the service manager STRONGLY advised to get extended warranty - he said that he'd never own one out of the warranty period - just shows what faith they have in their own product)
Rod.
I'm leaving the scene - YAY!!!!!

Sorry to hear you're leaving the fold, Rod.
Trust you'll have more joy with your new car - you should do, those bimmers literally reek quality. My friend's 325i is 4 years old and is still tight as a...
Completely opposite to your experience (fortunately for me), nine weeks on and I am still more than happy with the car, the dealer, etc...
So, I'm very happy with my experience - it's been a positive one, the more so due to this website ! I've never had a resource like this with other cars I've owned.
Cheers,
Michael

sorry to see you go and wish you well.
My cc has been literally trouble free. It's my third Pug and I'll buy another.
I have 2 friends who have had beamers and mercs and horror stories that you wouldn't believe - and in both cases it's been financially to their detriment.
At the end of the day it's a badge on a chunk of metal, and it's only as good as the support provided by the after sales network.
In my experience, Peugeot make good cars, but there are exceptions. In my mind it's a lottery regardless of what car you buy you take your chances as to what you get off the production line and then have to deal with it - or not have to.
Sorry to hear of all your trouble. If only lotto would send you a ticket as it did a crappy CC!

There is always a lemon in every batch - I have just clocked up 30,000km since Dec 02 in my 2.0 and apart from a little trouble with the roof mechanism due to a faulty sensor, a break squeak which was fixed by having the pads skimmed and a loose Engine Cover I can't complain. I still love driving my CC and am not looking to get rid of it anytime soon.
Hope to see you guys on the drive day

Having worked in the car sales arena, I have to wonder why you got such bad after sales service, perhaps they didn't make your friends list either Rod, after all some personalities simply shine through.and not to mention the incredibly bad after sales service both at dealer level, and in the service department
Rod.

I for one am incredibly happy with my CC, and people are always commenting on it. I am really happy that it has made me approachable by so many people who will come up to me to compliment me.
I also get lots of waves and cute guys talking to me.
Life with a CC is groovy!
Oh not the basic model......... as if!
