I have had squeaky brakes on my 206cc for a good few months now, the first time I took it to the garage, I was told they were fine, no squeaks. Then was told I'd have to pay for new pads so contacted PUG UK. Went back to the garage, I got new modified brake pads fitted, was great for 1 whole day but then the squeak came back!
It is more intermittent than it was but the squeak is still there. Now, I don't know if they really did put new brake pads on, I took their word for it, but I took it back in again - because my roof still leaks after 4 trips to have it fixed, and told them the squeak was back. I was told that basically they are the modified brake pads and that the material they use is non asbestos?! so you will always get some noises from them. They cleaned the pads but I still have squeaks. They didn't say it exactly, but in other words they meant - put up with it!
Is there really a cure for the squeaks? I'm getting so fed up of the squeaks and leaks from my car, I'm getting tempted into looking into another car.
Can someone please help!
Can squeaky brakes really be cured?

They say you need to have full brake upgrade to cure the squeaky brakes. I've changed my pads and discs upfront for nearly a year now and the squeaks still remain but it isn't as bad as it was though I know think the squeak is coming from the rear brakes as these are quite worn now. I'm due to get these changed as well so will let you know how I get on.
My brother drives a Honda Type R and he has no squeaks from his brakes and its coming upto 3 years old.
Guess its just poorer quality from Peugeot.
Still love my car though!
