urgent help required please

my wife has a 206 lx had the car for 6 months the problem i have is the gearbox is very notchy and hard to get into gear sometimes especially the 2nd gear and sometimes even when changing down the gearstick seems to drop into neutral and having a hell of a job to then get it into any gear atall leaving her sitting in the middle of the road until eventually can get it back into gear. just before warranty ran out (typical) the clutch plate was changed but still having same problems obviously dealer does not now want to know (again typical ) have also noticed since yesterday a sort of rattling noise when you take foot off of accelerator dont know if maybe this is part of same problem, my wife loves the car we paid an awful lot of money for it so doesn't seem logical to get rid of it. sorry for long winded question any advise greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately sounds about right... gearbox is terrible in these cars. It sounds like you are having more trouble than most though because my gearbox is still managable day to day... Could try another dealer

onmine the quickshift improved the 'feel 'when changing gears tremendously (sounds strange as the shorter travel increases the force needed)
