I own a 206cc 2002 Mux model with an alpine CDE-9843R deck and interface for the stalk .Everything was working fine for about 6 months when suddenly my deck started to loose it's memory (radio station settings ..etc) I would start the car in the morning and switch the radio on and voila , all memory lost .

I returned the deck and interface back to Alpine and after a couple of weeks received it back and they could find no fault , there suggestion was that there was a electrical fault with my 206 cc . I tested there theory with the original Clarion rd3 deck supplied with the car on purchase and for a period of one week no memory loss , I re-installed the alpine deck and to no suprise memory loss on the first day .The memory loss seems to occur if you leave the car switched off for a few hours

I double checked the voltages going to the the leads on the radio with a multimeter and determined that even when you switch off the iginition and the car goes into "economy mode " the deck still receives the required 12+ volts (thus memory should be intact)

At this stage I'm ready to pull my hair out or throw this deck out the window

Any advice would be very much appreciated

Regards

Charge up or replace if needed car battery - worked for me.
