Hi guys i wondered if you can help. Im new to the forum need to know how i can get the speedo out of the dash
My gf's cc's speedo isnt working (everything else is) so i need to get a new set from the scrappy. I will either open up the broken set and replace the broken motor/magnet from the scrappy's set, or get someone to change the milegage on the new set to suit.
PUG quoted me £350+ Vat and labour for a new one
does anyone know how to get the dial set out?
cheers

are you sure tis a speedo fault? how olsd is your car?
tis normally the vehicle speed sensor on the gearbox that causes that fault, can change anything in speedo when opened neither as its all soldered to a printed circiut board.
think you need to start at the gearbox unless you have deffo been told differant

Apparently the stealers have replaced the sensor on the gearbox for aound £40 ish o belive - thats what the misses has said, but it hasnt helped. I assume that is what it was considering the price.
I thought that if i tried another cluster and it worked - for only £30 it was worth the risk of not having to pay £350.
This happened to my megane and i re-soldered a new motor/magnet inplace of the broken one. Saved me a fortune
