Right Side light and rear right light not working

Should imagine they will be the same if both are from plex or pre plex car.

Glad this topic has popped up as I have a gremlin with the drivers side front side light too, it illuminates when i press the brake pedal.

Replace the brake light bulb and see if that fixes it

Already have Col infact i've replaced all the bulbs when i got the car as they were all at odd levels of brightness cos the bulbs were old.

I can add a bit to the mystery too, if I sit with my foot on the pedal it will stay lit but if I press it a few times eventually the bulb will stop lighting up with the brake pedal.

Does sidelight come on without brakelight bulb fitted?

I have the same exact problem with my RHS rear tail lamp and front RHS side light not working. Did a global scan using PP2000 and it showed no error. But when I use test by ECU function and went to BSI, the fault appeared there.

I'll open up the BSI and check one of these days when I have the time. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Mike, did you encounter any problem running the wire from the left rear light to the right rear light?

Thanks for posting that lion_ax interesting, when I had my diag gear on mine it didnt show up anything like that, although i occasionally get no +ve on multifunction display despite it working perfectly.

I've had my bsi out and stripped to pieces and cleaned all the dust out of it and nothing looks wrong, no holes in any chips or burnt tracks.

I'll have another crack with my diag and test it with the rear bulb in and out as Col suggested and post results later.

Ok i've had the diag on it again and.......absolutely nothing, can't find that menu you had lion_ax.

Had my heater control out too the bulb was popped inside, changed it and its now illuminating so nothing to do with right front indicator.

And Col i've had the rear right stop and tail bulb out and no front lighting up with it out, put the stop and tail bulb back in and the front light lights up a few times then stops, i've also bent the prongs up a bit as it was a tad loose.

Also discovered that my tail lights flicker so maybe an earth issue? Anyone know where they all are?

I fixed my bad earth by changing the bulb holder. I could not see on the old bulb holder any serious corrosion, only surface.
Have you tried to plug the other side bulb holder into the suspect side. I think if you plug the n/s bulb holder into the o/s plug the indicator bulb illuminates, which would at least tell you if you had a bad earth around the bulb holder.

Tenpole has a good suggestion. I would suspect a poor earth and start from there.

I really should find a cheap but ok multimeter on ebay rather than my bodge methods. But I would guess 99% of electrical problems are bad earth my methods work.
