Abs

Post by ilo »

I had four different code readers attached to my Peugeot 206 and it shows no faults on the ABS but the light still comes on. sometimes it stays off for a long time once it goes out but when it's on its faintly on and fully on at deferent times would it show on a reader if there was oil or grease on the cogs on the drive shafts thans

What make were the readers? Did they connect to the ABS system, or just not show any codes?
Dirt, oil & grease shouldn't give any issues. Some ABS systems run inside axles in with the oil.
Cheers Col.

Same here much easier to just change the cv joint £26 brand new including a new boot too for the 2.0 16v instead of messing around getting a new ring to sit on the end of the rusty old one

Do you get the abs fault message on the multi display at the same time or ever?

If not and the light comes on faintly it could be just a false alarm and a faulty instrument panel.

Its not a bulb inside its an led and theyre not supposed to light up feint just on or off so something must be dying on your dash somewhere.

Certainly should have got codes with those machines.
I think Slo may be on the right track. Is there any pattern, ie, it only happens when it rains?
Cheers Col.
