CV joint needs replacing. Is this possible without removing drive shaft

It won't be a quick or easy as you don't have much room to work in. In the end it is probably quicker and simply to pull the driveshaft. It will probably pop out anyway if the passenger side ...
You should really change these in a clean environment as you don't want to get dirt in there or it will wear out quicker.
