Is it safe to wash the car in a car wash ( leaks, scrathches ) or is it better to wash the car by hand ? I am a lazy guy so I would prefer the car wash, any experiences ?

i always Jetwash then use a shammie leather and a clean bucket of water to dry off

Never use a carwash at all, they leave the paint work swirly after a few uses.

The thought of letting my little cutie near a car wash brings me out in a cold sweat

I hate washing cars but find doing my little one quite theraputic

Plus when you wash your car by hand you can pose to all of your neighbours!

being lazy i don't like the idea of washing a car - but as some others have said, car washes will scratch it so i always do it myself.

also means it is done right too and nothing missed.

a car wash with the brushes will scratch your car and the pressure washer ones don't normally clean the alloys right so it really is best to do it yourself.

it's also an idea to use a new sponge every time as the sponges can collect grit which again can scratch the paint work. at the end of the day, a sponge only costs just over 50p and using it at the end to do the alloys justifies putting it in the bin

going back to the cleaning bit.

I have just bought a bit to add hot (temperature controlled) water to my outside tap so my hands dont get cold in winter.

thats dedication.

you should use cold water (as hot water softens the cars wax) and 100 cotton cloth to avoid scratches. Also get a Turtle Wax Squidqee instead of a chammy!
