Hi,
Got the car booked in next Tuesday to have a Wind stop fitted. Dealer states the price is £200 all in. If I want to buy and fit myself the price is £205 !. Go figure !. Just a word of advice to anyone who is contemplating getting one, there seems to be a real delay in dealers getting hold of them, so order early to avoid disappointment.
I had to wait 3 - 4 weeks for mine so I'm glad I ordered in advance of the good weather. Its worth it though! Mine cost about £205 too, Rob said that's down to a pricing error but for the sake of £5 I wasn't going to argue with the monkey! I know, more money than sense
Before I got mine I tried to drive down the motorway with the roof down. I had to pull in at the first service station as I was freezing (despite having the heating on full blast!) and I felt like I'd got stuck in a wind tunnel. This was despite the temperature being about 18 degrees.
Today I was driving around for a couple of hours, the sun was out but it wasn't too warm (about eight to ten degrees). I didn't even need the heating on and it reduces the wind turbulance in the car enormously. It vastly improves the comfort of driving with the roof down meaning that when I'm off work I now only drive with the roof up when its raining!
I'd definitely recommend one, that's another £200 onto your new car price!
Derek, I know I was pushing the upper grille, but the windstop is a bit of kit that DOES make a difference. Well worth a buy. Lowers noise, keeps you warm, looks good, oh and it and stops wind.
