I returned end of Jan and was delighted when I received a call letting me know my car was en route (2 months early). As extras I had asked for the light conversion and SP grille and the car therefore, needed some cosmetic surgery at the body shop before delivery.
I decided that it would be best to wait for March 01 to ensure the new reg.
Well... ...this is where the story begins.
The evening before Friday the 1st March I received a call from Perrys. To cut a long story short a bunch of scallywags (not too uncommon in Portsmouth) walked in and managed to lift all the NEW 02 reg cars spare keys. Thats right all the spare keys for the cars which were destined to be handed over the next day. Moreover, every key had the reg number on it!!! Needless to say - one of the keys was MINE and I was unable to take delivery!
The longest 10 days started as of March 1st and I waited while they changed all the locks and immob. Due to the stress and sleepless nights I ended up drowning my sorrows with one too many a Stella (estimated 10 day cost c £135) I was truly p***ed off with Perrys and having been a long term PUG friend I have indeed, had many a problem with them in the past!
This is where the story changes a little. A big pick up to Conrad, salesman at Perrys who kindly (out of the blue) came back to me with private reg suggestions. He/Perrys were making an offer of buying me a private reg of my choice (within reason - I did ask for my name, excact spelling but at £28K was indeed a tall order!). Instead I ended up with just under £1k's worth and must say I can't really grumble and me little silver bullet now looks even PHATER.
Many thanks to Perrys (espec. Conrad) for making an extremely shite situ a more palatable experience.
