Yesterday, I had a puncture, so I tried to fix it myself using one of the tins of Tip Top supplied by Peugeot. It didn't work, so I called the Peugeot Assistance and they sent someone to fix it (taking almost 2 hours to arrive).
They AA patrolman said that he would have been able to fix the puncture easily if I hadn't used the tin, but the tyre was now rendered irrepairable because the patch will not adhere to the sealant.
Instead of getting a tyre repaired (for free), I had to pay about £80 for a new tyre! They also wanted to charge me a callout charge because I wasn't carrying a spare wheel, but the AA know that the 206CC doesn't come with a spare wheel, so make exceptions in this case. :x
Don't Use the Tins of Tip Top for the Tyres!!!

Thanks, I shall keep an close eye on the forums from now on in case another tip like that comes up, to avoid another costly mistake.
In the meantime, I do intend to complain to Peugeot and try and get my money back. I'll update the forum when I get a response.
By the way, Juan. Me gusta mucho su animación de 206.

Here you will find a letter sent to Peugeot by another owner with the same problem.
Might be worth a try?

I took my tyre back to the Peugeot garage (Brian Whiteside in Poole) to try and get my money refunded for a new tyre. The garager got in touch with Peugeot and they said that the tyre can be repaired.
The thoroughly cleaned the tyre out and have put a patch in it, so I now have a spare tyre (even if it's not on a wheel).
I still recommend to steer clear of the aerosol stuff unless absolutely necessary as I think it is quite a job cleanging it out of the tyre.

Not at all. There's no legal requirement to carry a spare wheel. Neither is there a requirement to carry a jack, wheel brace, pump, etc.Surely thats gotta be illegal!
